Meet Associate Professor Jim Tsaltas
World leading specialist and surgeon
Associate Professor Jim Tsaltas is one of the world’s most highly regarded gynaecological specialists. Known as one of Australia’s ‘doctor’s doctor’, he is regularly referred by other specialists – particularly in the areas of severe endometriosis and complex cases of infertility.
Associate Professor Tsaltas is one of the few surgeons in the world who performs complex laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery on patients suffering serious gynaecological conditions.
Expert, teacher & researcher
Associate Professor Tsaltas presents and publishes widely on endometriosis, endoscopic surgery and IVF. He is a lecturer at Monash University, one of the Clinical Directors of Melbourne IVF and is also regularly invited to demonstrate surgery and present at international conferences.
As Head of Gynaecological Endoscopy at Monash, Associate Professor Tsaltas has trained 20 Fellows to date in advanced gynaecological endoscopy. These specialists now promote and teach advanced laparoscopic surgery themselves – and several continue to work with Associate Professor Tsaltas today.
